William Dale Olthoff, age 91, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2022 and went to be with his Lord and Savior. Bill was born on June 14, 1931 and lived in Grand Rapids his entire life. After graduating from Grand Rapids Christian High School, he worked at General Motors Fisher Body Plant #2 for 35 years until retirement. In 1955, Bill married the love of his life, Beth (Meyering) and they were married 66 years until her passing in July 2022. He was a faithful servant of God, had a tremendous love for music and enjoyed singing in church and several choirs. His love for the Lord was clear to see every time he sang. Bill enjoyed cheering on his Michigan Wolverines, camping and attending sporting and school events for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his children, Janie and Rick Lenartz and Jim and Karen Olthoff; grandchildren, Lisa and Mike Dozeman (Evie, Peyton and Bryson), Mike and Leann Lenartz (Ren, Zoe and Cam), Tracy and Greg Kortman (William and Marley), Alexandra (fiancee Joe Davis) and Nicole Stam; sisters-in-law Freda Kamphouse, Carole Meyering and Annette Meyering Rosema and many nephews, nieces and loving friends. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife Beth; parents John and Berdena Olthoff; sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and John Nagelkerk; brothers-in-law Albert (Ann) Meyering, George Meyering, Leslie Meyering and John Kamphouse. The family will greet friends and relatives at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE, GR 49546) on Monday, January 2, from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3, at 11 am at LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church (107 LaGrave Ave. SE, GR 49503) with visitation one hour prior to the service. The family wishes to thank Faith Hospice and Holland Home Raybrook Cook Center, especially his caregiver Bhesh, for their wonderful care and comfort in Bill's final days.
