William John (Bill) Dalsaso, 87, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on January 3 and joined his son, John, in heaven.

Bill was born in Detroit on June 3, 1936 to Joseph and Ella Dalsaso. He was a graduate of University of Detroit Jesuit High School, attended St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Detroit. Bill met the love of his life, Jane, in 1959 and they were married on August 11, 1962. Bill had a successful sales career in the business forms industry and retired in 2000 from Reynolds & Reynolds Company. Bill's primary focus throughout his life was his family. Bill and Jane enjoyed many years traveling, spending time with friends and family, and watching college sports. Bill was an avid golfer, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and School for 49 years.

Bill was preceded in death by his son, John, son-in-law, Robert Newell, his parents, his brothers, Joe and Tom Dalsaso, father and mother-in-law, Charles and Helen Kohankie.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jane; his daughters, Ann Newell, Mary Jane (Michael) Tarach, Cathy (Mike) Bottema, and Ellen (Brannen) Clark; his grandchildren, Rachael (Jeffrey) Quinlan, Elizabeth (Mike) Race, Joe Tarach, Will (Kellsey) Bottema, John Bottema, Meghan (Jimmy) Cain, and Ryan Clark; sisters-in-law Ann Kohankie, Maryhelen (Jerry) Dumon, Claire (Mike) Alexander, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 8 at 12:00 PM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2750 Burton St. SE, with visitation to begin at the church at 10:30 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dan Donnelly Education Foundation at St. Paul the Apostle School or to Grand Rapids Right to Life.
