Humbly, gently, and generously is how Wesley A. Lytle lived his life for 81 years. Born in Fillmore, New York on February 10, 1945, he died peacefully, surrounded by family on October 28 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While he relished locks, electric timers, and unending road trips in his Buick, his greatest loves were undeniably Jesus, family, and people.
Growing up in Medellin, Colombia with his missionary family sparked a passion in him for helping others know his Lord and Savior. Wes spent his working years at U.S. Plastic Corporation in Lima, OH, eventually serving as CEO. His vocation melded his ability to humbly lead others with his love for missions as the business funded outreach in several nations with the goal of helping many to know and follow Jesus. Whatever Wes did, he "...worked at it with all his heart as working for the Lord and not for men." (Colossians 3:23) This included serving on several college and ministry boards, leading Sunday school, teaching algebra to his daughters, and spending time with his grandchildren by attending many, if not most of their events.
Wesley is survived by his wife Camella Lytle, Children: Kristin (Darrell) Kincer, Son-in-law Chris McNiven; Grandchildren: Liam, Drew, Evy, Owen, Step children Jessica (Pete) Howard, Lanna (Jeff) Brown, Erika (Ryan) Weese; Step Grandchildren: Duncan, Saucie, Axel, Ava, Luca, and Major; Brother Bern (Kathy) Lytle, Sister Jule Kind, Sister-in-law Rachel Williams, Brothers-in-law Paul VonTobel and Darrell Long, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Wesley was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Lytle, parents Robert and Louise Lytle, brother Bruce Lytle, daughter Jennifer McNiven, brothers in law Jack Williams and Kerry Kind, and sisters in law Prudy Long and Candy VonTobel.
