Obituary

Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Wallace.

Wally was given life by his Creator and was born on July 22, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, to Walter and Viola Huebner. He was blessed with a sister, Laverne.

He was baptized into the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit on August 28, 1927. Over the years he attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and Grace Lutheran School. He was confirmed on April 6, 1941 and received the gift of Christ's saving Body and Blood. While in high school Wally worked for Chicago Carton Company, in the engineering department of Barret Cravens, and later Chicago Screw Company, and throughout he continued to play the trumpet in the high school band and later with a dance band. In October 1945, he enlisted in the Navy Reserve to be a pilot. While he didn't get to fly a plane in WWII, he did take advantage of the Navy's offer for higher education at Bucknell University and University of Pennsylvania. After discharge from the Navy in 1946, he continued his education at Lyons Township Junior College and Illinois Institute of Technology.

On February 4, 1950, he was united in holy matrimony to Loreley Yuenger. Following their wedding, Wally began working for the family company Wm Yuenger Manufacturing. Wally and Lee were blessed with the gift of three children, Roy Huebner, Mark Huebner, who died in infancy, and Gail (Brad) Baltimore. They were given the gift of 4 grandsons, and 6 great-grandchildren. Over the years, Wally and Lee actively served their churches, with Wally having served on almost every board throughout the years.

Finally, on January 5, 2026 at the age of 98 years, our Lord graciously welcomed Wally to His heavenly home. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints" Psalm 116:15. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our brother, Wally.
