Thomas F. Makulski, born October 20, 1941, went to his heavenly home on April 30, 2024. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Arlene; son Paul and daughter Marjorie (Jason) George; grandchildren Lillia, Matthew, Allison, Jessa, and Gregory; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Dan and Cindy Howell; sister-in-law Sharon Makulski; many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Norbert and Emily and his brothers Dennis and Michael Makulski.

Tom graduated from University of Detroit High School, then went to St. Bernard's in Alabama on a basketball scholarship. He was director of their sports information program. He then went on to receive his master's degree in counseling psychology from Wayne State University. Tom worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 38 years, counseling disabled Veterans and their families.

Tom loved golfing, bridge, reading, and Scrabble. He enjoyed watching sports, especially University of Michigan football and basketball, as well as the Tigers and Lions.

Tom's Catholic faith was strong, and he spent many hours in the Immaculate Heart of Mary eucharist chapel adoring his Lord.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 10 at 11 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with one hour of visitation prior beginning at 10 AM.
