Terry Lee
Hoeksema
Feb 28, 1950 — Feb 14, 2024
Terry Lee Hoeksema, aged 73, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2024. Born on February 28, 1950, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Terry's life was one marked by dedication, warmth, and an ever-present sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Joyce Hoeksema, and a loving father to his children, Timothy (Melanie), Joel (Robin), Leah, and Samantha. His role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and the legacy of his love is carried on through his grandchildren, Cooper, Braydon, Carson, Adah, and Audrey, who brought him immeasurable joy.
Terry's family circle extended to his mother, Mae Hoeksema; his brothers, Ronald (Lyn) and Robert (Brenda); and his sister, Marcia (David) Vruggink. He is also survived by his siblings in law, Robert and Ruth Knoll and Nancy Wierenga. His family will remember him as the cornerstone of their lives, a man who brought laughter, love, and kindness into every interaction. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerrit Hoeksema, and his brother-in-law, Stephen Wierenga.
Terry's passions extended to the kitchen, where he found joy in cooking for family and friends, and to the stands of sporting events, where he was the proudest supporter of his grandchildren. His presence at these events was a testament to his unwavering support and love for his family. His commitment to his faith was unwavering, and he was a member of LaGrave CRC for over 30 years.
Those who knew Terry will remember him as a man who lived his life with a loving heart, a kind spirit, and a sense of humor that could light up a room. His laughter and the stories he shared will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those he loved.
