Steven Aloysius "Steve" Kracik, age 97, Grand Rapids, MI, formerly of Clarendon Hills and Hinsdale, IL and Sun City Center, FL died September 14. Born December of 1924 in Chicago, IL, to Andrew and Mary Kracik, the 7th of 8 children. Served in the US Navy in WWII. Steve earned his BA in accounting from DePaul University. Married Marie P. Borszcz in 1952. He retired from Amoco Oil Co. in 1984. An attentive husband, involved father, generous friend, and fun-loving brother, Steve gave freely of his time, talent and treasure. He sang in numerous church choirs, belonged to the Knights of Columbus, donated gallons upon gallons of blood, and supported many charities. His delight was his family and friends, particularly his great-granddaughters. He is pre-deceased by his parents, siblings, and his wife, Marie. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen (George), granddaughter, Georgia (Jon), 2 great-granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will take place on Friday September 23, 2022, 11:00 am at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2750 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
