Sandra Laine Halquist, age 83, passed away peacefully on the morning of October 11, 2023. Sandy was born in Rising Sun, Ohio on October 27, 1939. Sandy was the 2nd born of five children. She lived most of her youth in the Saginaw, Michigan area.

Sandy attended Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri where she met the love of her life, Carl Halquist. Sandy and Carl were married in 1962 and Sandy became a devoted Pastor's wife, ministering at seven churches across California, Indiana, and Michigan.

Sandy was a talented musician and could play multiple instruments, most memorably the piano and accordion. Sandy and Carl traveled around the world in their ministry, including trips to Venezuela and The Holy Land. Sandy had a love for birds and collecting bird figurines of all species and colors. Her giant curio cabinet was "filled to overflowing" with her collection of birds that she acquired over the years. Sandy was an adoring "Boy Mom" and loved all of her grandkids.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Carl Halquist, her son, Carl "Tripp" Halquist III, granddaughter Marie Lydia Halquist, parents Marie and Gilbert Hunt, brother Maynard Hunt and sister Connie Hunt.

Sandy is survived by her sons Scott (Kristi) Halquist, John (Julie) Halquist, grandchildren Nathan Halquist, Christian (Taylor) Halquist, Kyle (Anneke) Halquist, Cornell Halquist, Benjamin Halquist, sisters Sharon Braley, Lonna (Lynn) Ellsworth, and many nieces and nephews.
