Ruthanne Flikkema, 68, of Grand Rapids was delivered from the sufferings and sin of this present age and was brought to glory to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday September 16, 2022. She was born to the late Dewey and Dena (Koole) Engelsma in Grand Rapids. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John Flikkema; their children, John Flikkema (Tara), Amanda Jabaay (Jason),Christian Flikkema (Julie), Hannah Kortering (Tim), Connor Flikkema; Brothers and sisters, Prof. David and Ruth Engelsma, Mary Beth and Lammert Lubbers, Lenore and Donald Cook, Michael and Brenda Engelsma, Lois and Timothy Pipe, Jonathan and Floretta Engelsma, Mark and Debra Engelsma, Elizabeth and Edward Ophoff, Kenneth and Pamela Engelsma, Sara and Mark Looyenga, and Jordan and Amy Engelsma; her sisters-in-law, Karen Ophoff (Steve), Gail Kuiper( Don); brothers-in-law, Tom Flikkema (Amy), Steve Flikkema (Pam); Seventeen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:30 and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday September, 20, 2022 at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 21, 2022 at Trinity Protestant Reformed Church,3385 Van Buren, Hudsonville, MI 49426 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions to Adams Christian School or Covenant Christian High School.
