Ronald E. Novitsky was born on November 16, 1933, to Constance and Enoch Novitsky in Grand Rapids, MI. He passed away on August 11, 2025 with family at his side. He served in the US Army in Korea. He worked as a tool and die maker at Jarecki Corp. and later at GM for 25 years. Always with an active mind, Ron loved to make inventions that made life work better. He was an avid golfer for many years. He loved to fish and hunt and cook breakfast on the Coleman stove for his family when camping. He enjoyed keeping a well-manicured weedless lawn. Ron is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Frances Gee. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lorraine (Clark) Novitsky; three children, Julie (Greg) Brinks, Jim (Liz) Novitsky, and Gayle Hood; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. The funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 1935 Plymouth Ave. SE, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM. There will be a visitation with family at 10:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Ron's name to the Killgoar Education Foundation (1935 Plymouth Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506) which provides tuition assistance to local families in need.
