Ronald Clifford Behr, age 79, cherished father, Grandpa and friend passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, surrounded by his four daughters and lifelong friends. Ron was born May 5, 1943, to Richard and Leona Pike Behr. He is survived by his four daughters Melanie (Bob) Strobel, Shannon Behr DeNoble (Seth DeNoble), Haven (Jon) Casaday, Ashley (Dave) D'Amico; grandchildren Tade, Hayden, Carter, Owen and Ava Strobel, Mariah and Beckett Casaday, Lorraine and Ivy D'Amico; and best friends Larry and Carolyn Vrooman.

Ron was a 1961 graduate of Whitmer High School in Toledo, Ohio. He was a member of the football team and performed in the school choir and Whitmer Circus.

He moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to pursue his career in the printing industry while raising young kids. Later in life he loved being a bus driver for Forest Hills Public Schools. Ron was a skilled fisherman, gardener and all around outdoorsman. Cooking, history and reading were favorite hobbies. He was the greatest fan to his daughters and grandchildren, attending every sport, art and musical event he could. Ron will forever be known for his brilliant sayings and exaggerated stories. Ron was feisty, kind, and engaging and back in the day used his looks, vocals and charm to entertain many. His four girls will forever remember Ron's unwavering support. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service celebrating Ron's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 28, at Thornapple Covenant Church, 6595 Cascade Rd SE with Rev. Andrew Vanover officiating. The family will greet friends and family at the church one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 am. In lieu of flowers contributions in Ron's memory may be made to Kids' Food Basket.
