Roely
Reindersma
Mar 12, 1934 — May 15, 2026
Roely Reindersma (Roelfje Doller), who possessed a joyful spirit and vibrant love of life, passed away peacefully at the age of 92. She was also affectionately known as Lieve, Mom, Beppe, and Tante Roely by those that loved her.
In February 1955 she wed Raymond (Riemer) Reindersma, in Haulerwyk , Friesland, the Netherlands and shortly after their marriage, the couple immigrated to the U.S., eventually settling in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There, she built a beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and love. A longtime member of both the Reformed and Christian Reformed Churches, Roely lived out her faith through her kindness and love. She was a friend to everyone she met and never knew a stranger.
Roely was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and for many years also lovingly cared for the home of the Wendt family. She was famously active, often surprising others with her zest for life. Whether she was bicycling or rollerblading through Parkside Park with her grandchildren, going bowling with friends or racing down snow-covered hills on a sled with her great-granddaughter, she embraced every moment with a youthful joy that was infectious, remaining remarkably active even into her 80s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond (Riemer) Reindersma; her daughters, Diana Hunter and Christine Reindersma; and her parents, and siblings who immigrated alongside her to the United States and Australia.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Reindersma; her grandchildren, Michael Hunter and Stephanie (Robert) Beane; her five great-grandchildren, Foster, Ava, Phoenix, Adalyn, and Aubree; and her siblings Janke (Trienus) Boonstra and Tena (Karst) VanderKaap in the Netherlands, and many nieces and nephews around the world.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and memories that will be forever cherished by those that knew her.
Welterusten, lieve Roely.
