Obituary

Robert Scott Norris, born on September 21, 1962, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the age of 63. Bob lived a life full of warmth, humor, and deep devotion to his family and his passions.

For 20 years, Bob worked as a dedicated funeral director and embalmer before eventually leaving the industry to pursue a new career. He found remarkable success in sales, earning recognition as a repeat top salesman at Harley Davidson and ultimately being named Salesman of the Year for Grand Rapids Harley Davidson, a proud milestone celebrated with a plaque presented in front of all his colleagues.

Above all, Bob was known for his incredible sense of humor and his natural ability to make people laugh. Whether he was on the golf course, where he proudly hit three hole-in-ones and won several father-son golf tournaments alongside his son Tyler, or enjoying a ride on his bike, Bob poured his heart into everything he did. In his younger years, he also loved spending time boating. At home, he took immense pride in keeping his lawn immaculate and shared a special, comforting bond with his cat, Louie.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Norris, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dean and Shar Sanborn, and his brother-in-law, Rick Nicholl. He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his children who were his greatest pride and joy, Tyler Norris and his wife Emily, and BreAnna Schneider and her husband Aaron; his adored grandchildren to whom he was "G-Bob", Melina, Lane, Maven, and Lyla; his mother, Sue Kwolek, his sisters, Deborah and Marty Skinner, Cindy Hronek, and Tammy Nicholl; his nieces and nephews, Lindsey and Brett Thorsen, Lauren and Breton Darcy, Alyssa and Eric Estrada, and Madison Hronek; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Wyatt, Josie, Taylor and Brooks.

A memorial gathering will be held at Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546) on Thursday, September 17, from 3-6 pm.
