Robert "Bob" Tiesma, went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 10, 2023. Born to William and Johanna Tiesma on June 24, 1944, he grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and married Joyce in 1966.

He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His life of love was focused on his family, friends, faith, and golf. A longtime member of Hillside Community Church in Cutlerville, he served as deacon earlier in his life. Bob, a positive, loyal, outgoing jokester till the end will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Kim, and Chad and Carrie. Survivors also include 8 grandchildren, Hayden, Laurel, Gabbie, Will, Max, Lily, Ivy, and Jonas. He is also survived by a beloved sister Nancy Holwerda, and brothers and sisters-in-law Stu and Carole Pearce and Jim and Mary Wieland. He was predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law, Gerald Holwerda.

A memorial celebration of Bob's life will be held at Hillside Community Church, 1440 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508 on Thursday, July 13th. A one-hour visitation will start at 6:30PM with a service following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillside Community Church.
