Obituary

Phyllis Ann Sietsema, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2025, at the age of 89.

Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Russell Sietsema, with whom she shared 57 wonderful years. Together, they raised a family that became her pride and joy. She is survived by her children, Mark (Debra) Sietsema, Kathleen (the late James) Buckner, and Kerri (Marc) Feikema. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Ryan (Kate) Sietsema, Kevin (Rebecca) Sietsema, Ben (Cay) Buckner, Andrew Buckner, Kate (Austen) Burgoyne, Caleb Buckner, Rachel (Matt) Schwartz, Hope Feikema, Ashley (Cam) Staal, Jordan Feikema, and her seven great-grandchildren.

After dedicating her life to her family as a hardworking homemaker, Phyllis served as a secretary at the Michigan Baptist General Conference. She also played the organ and piano for many years at Knapp Street Reformed Church, where her music uplifted the spirits of the congregation. Her love for music extended beyond the church walls, as she taught piano and relished in special music. Phyllis also found joy in sewing and loved doing it in her free time.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Sietsema, her parents, Harry and Lavina Greenland, and her son-in-law, James Buckner. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 2nd, 2026 at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546) at 12PM with a visitation starting at 10AM.
