Patricia O'Donnell Peterson (née Powell), age 87, of Grand Rapids, passed away on October 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick Powell and Bonneta Gleason Powell Winter, and by her sister-in-law, Karleen Powell. She is survived by her loving husband, William Peterson; brother, Anthony (Cynthia Driscoll) Powell; in-laws, Mark (Dolly) Peterson, Jackie (Jeff) Haroldson, Eric Peterson, and Mike Peterson; niece and nephew, Corey Powell and Zachary (Allison Hahn) Powell; grandniece, Nova; and numerous others who affectionately called her "Aunt Pat," including members of the Peterson, Zuidema, Erisman, Jellema, Haroldson, McMillan, and Bumphrey families.

Before attending LaGrave Avenue CRC Pat was a founder of Northlawn United Methodist Church. She was deeply blessed by the friendship of Karen Krummell and Laura Martin, whom she lovingly referred to as "the daughters she wished she had." In her final days, Pat was comforted by the faithful companionship of her dear friends Lee Sullivan and Shelby Gray, who faithfully cared for Pat's kitty Dina while Pat and Bill were both gone. Pat loved spending time in her large garden, where she grew beautiful flowers and abundant vegetables—usually with only minimal help from her husband, Bill. She took joy in sharing her harvest with friends and neighbors. Pat also had a keen eye for finding practical treasures among the many things Bill brought home—always more interested in what was coming in but happiest if more was going out.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church, 107 LaGrave Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546, and at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Bill will continue to lovingly care for Pat's cat Dina and requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Pat's memory be made to Reuben's Room Cat Rescue (P.O.
