Befus, Patricia M. Grand Rapids, MI – Patricia (Pat) Befus was reunited with the love of her life, Sam Befus, on July 28, 2023, when, surrounded by family, her Savior called her home.

She is remembered with so much love by her 5 children and their spouses: Dan (Jan), Jack (Nancy), Bob (Sandra), Barb (Iain) and Scott (Colleen). Her 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren will always remember the warmth and love she expressed in countless ways, not the least of which were her exceptional cooking and generous hospitality.

Pat graduated from Philadelphia College of the Bible and worked for Word of Life Youth and Family Camps where she met Sam Befus. They were married in 1951 and shared life and love together for 66 years. Sam preceded her home to glory in 2018. Together they served as missionaries in Japan, Korea, East and West Africa, and Latin America with the Pocket Testament League. After 20 years on the mission field, Pat joined her husband in serving for 35 years in churches where they were called to pastor. Pat's kind and loving spirit has touched countless hearts and lives all around the world. Her life was infused with a special joy and grace that was a magnet for deep friendships wherever she lived. Her love for the Lord Jesus and commitment to God's call on her life will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her.

A celebration of Pat's life will be held at Holland Home, Raybrook Manor Chapel on Saturday, August 5th at 3:00 PM with an opportunity to visit with family and friends one hour prior to the memorial service. Please join the family afterwards for a reception and fellowship. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation to the Holland Home Resident Assistance Fund.
