Owen Pruiksma, age 63, passed into the arms of his Savior in the late evening of Thursday, February 22nd.

The breadth of Owen's community of friends and family is truly immense, and he loved them all dearly.

Owen was captivating. He was deeply passionate about his work as a medical social worker, and it was his great honor and pleasure to serve and advocate for his patients.

Owen was truly a man of superlatives. He was the most loving. The most kind. The most gentle. The biggest heart. The biggest presence in the room. The best listener. The quickest smile. The worst "dad jokes."

Owen's memory will be treasured by all who knew him, but most of all by his loving wife Shelley; daughters Renee Davis and her wife Stacy, Anna Benson and her husband Brian, and Kacie Pruiksma and her wife Hayley Kenyon; his grandchildren, his true joy: Zoey Benson, Reese Benson, Wesley Benson, and Nella Davis; sisters Sandi (Bill) Crago, Sue (John) Roeda, Linda (Len) Oppelaar, Pat Pruiksma, and brother Jamie (Kristen) Pruiksma; his parents-in-law Paul and Judy Baar; brother-in-law Steve (Julie) Baar and sister-in-law Sheryl (Randy) Moon; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Harold and Grace Pruiksma.

A visitation will be held at Zaagman Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 27th from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at Eastern Avenue Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday, February 28th at 11AM.
