Nora J. Boomstra, 96, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday May 9, 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids to the late Nicholas H. and Sena Lanning. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald Jack Boomstra; grandson, Matthew Boomstra as well as her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Jackie Boomstra, Sherry (Gary) Bird, Mary Mol, and Tom (Rose) Boomstra; grandchildren, Scott Bird, David Bird, and Dennis Bird, Mike Boomstra and Melissa Mol; four great-grandchildren. Nora was an eternal optimist, solid in her faith and she treasured and adored her grandchildren. Nora enjoyed playing board games, especially Yahtzee and was a faithful Detroit Tigers fan. Nora and Gerald also enjoyed travel in their motor home. Visitation will be Monday May 15, 2023 at Zaagman Memorial Chapel from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 am.  Memorial contributions are suggested to: Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. Private entombment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
