A devoted mother and adored wife, Monique Hoa-Thi Tran-Ganic, 45 of Grand Rapids, MI entered the gates of heaven on May 29, 2023, after a courageous five-year battle with gastric cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her by living their lives to the fullest.

Monique was born on April 12, 1978, to parents Lot Nguyen and Than Tran in Vietnam. She was the third of six children. Her mother and father unfortunately passed away early in her life, so Monique was raised by her aunt and uncle, Lien Nguyen, and Minh Tran. Despite all the hardships as a young child, Monique made the best of her life and had a heart of gold. She loved her family with all her heart, especially the love of her life, Ervin Ganic and their three children, Phillip (26), Michelle (24) and Michael (21). She continuously cared for her children even when things got challenging. They were her world.

She was also a caring daughter and loving sister, but she cherished her thirteen nephews and nieces. She was the favorite aunt who spoiled the kids on their birthdays (and every other day).

Monique will be remembered for her strong will to live, kind and tender heart, her love for food, and humorous personality.

Monique is survived by her husband Ervin Ganic, her daughter Michelle Than, her two sons Phillip and Michael Than; her sisters Fawn Nguyen, Kristina Tran, Huong Baker, Mary Cook, her brother Hai Tran; and many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. They invite you to join them for a funeral service held at Graceland Memorial Park at 11am on June 1st.
