Obituary

Mark James Albertson, born December 9, 1958, in Kalamazoo, Michigan passed peacefully at home in Rockford, Michigan on April 28, 2026. During Mark's life, he was a farmer, beekeeper, coin collector, collegiate wrestler and football player, Taekwondo fourth Dan, avid morel mushroom hunter, and fly fisherman. He also achieved several academic accomplishments: Bachelor of Science at Olivet College, Masters in Business Administration at Grand Valley State University, CMA-Certificate of Management Accounting, and CPA-Certificate of Public Accounting.

However, his most important decision was to kneel before his God in his first year of college and ask Jesus Christ for forgiveness, asking Him to 'return' as Lord and Savior into his life. He had originally asked Jesus into his life at the age of four.

Mark was a hard-working provider for his family, a loving and trustworthy husband, a fun-loving father, a playful grandpa, a friend even to strangers, and a generous giver to family and church. Mark's achievements, godly character, and zest for life made him an extraordinary man.

During his last months of life, Emmanuel Hospice helped his wife care for him in his home.

He is the son of Dan (deceased) and Bonnie Albertson. He is survived by his wife Kathryn; daughter Michelle (Josh) Petrusma and grand-children Tessa, Jade and Jurjen; mother Bonnie Albertson; sister Dana (Dave) Stowell; brother Brian Albertson, and many beloved nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
