Marjorie
Bishop
Jul 4, 1936 — Aug 29, 2022
On August 29, 2022, Marjorie Ann (Workman) Bishop, age 86, took her last breath on earth and joined her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her late husband of 61 years, Richard Lee Bishop, in Heaven. Marge was a determined woman who fought through days and years of physical challenges because she loved her family. Her inner strength was displayed through the many years she lovingly cared for her husband as he struggled through Alzheimer's. Marge is undoubtedly enjoying walking, running, and maybe even leaping on her healed and strong legs. Glory be to God who gives us life beyond the grave.
Marge leaves behind to cherish their memories: Her children – Nancy and Larry Stegink, Rick and Sandy Bishop, and Sandy Bishop. Her grandchildren: Ben and Anna Stegink, Sara and Daryl Huinink, Tim and Kaye Stegink, Anna and Chris Steinke, Andrew and Trisha Bishop, Kristi Wysocki, and David and Rachel Bishop. Her great-grandchildren: Grace, Allie, Jack Micah, Samuel, Hope, Aliyah, Karys, Jozina, Blanton, Bishop, Jorie, Cambry, Ivy, Collins, Tobias, and Shayla. Her sisters: Arlene (Jim) Kettner and Linda Kearns. Her in-laws: Jim and Donna Bishop and Leone Bishop. Preceding her to Heaven were her parents, Sam and Anne Workman and granddaughter Rosemary Stegink.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 2, from 6 to 8 PM at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 10 AM, also at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, with one hour of coffee, pastries, and visitation prior from 9 AM to 10 AM. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made in Marge's honor to Grand Rapids Christian Schools or Faith Hospice.
