Marilyne Meengs, age 88, of Caledonia, was called home on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

Marilyne will be lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jeff Meiste and their daughters; Megan & Drew Scholten, Kaitlyn Meiste, and Taryn & Mitchell Arendsen; great-granddaughters, Emmarie and Eleanor Scholten; son and daughter-in-law, John G. Meengs IV and Melissa Meengs and their children, John G Meengs V and his wife Hannah, Katrina, Emily, and Isabel; great-grandsons Abel and Liam; sisters-in-law Marilyn Roelofs and Lynn Meengs; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Meengs III; her brother, Roger Roelofs; and brother-in-law, Russ Meengs.

Marilyne received her teaching degree from Hope College and taught in the Grand Rapids area for many years. She eventually left teaching to raise her children. As they grew, Marilyne returned to work at Rogers Department Store, where she stayed until her retirement.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, from 1pm-3pm in the gym at Woodhaven Reformed Church, 3959 68th Street, Byron Center, MI, 49315. A private graveside service will be held at Grandville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Marilyne's memory may be made to the Woodhaven Reformed Church Building Fund.
