Obituary

Marian Beltman, child of God, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 12. Born to Mary and John Klaasen on March 4, 1920, she grew up in Holland, Michigan, and married Henry (Bud) Beltman in 1946.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her life of love and service focused on her family, her church, and her community.

A longtime member of Calvin CRC, she served the church in various capacities for many years. A positive, gracious, loyal and stylish woman, she will be missed by many.

Her dedication to a life in Christ served as a testimony to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Bruce and Dorothea, Betsy and Thomas, Sara and Mark and Charles and Lorilee. Survivors also include nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A beloved sister, Bernice, and brothers-in-laws Frank (Judy) and Kenneth (Diane) Beltman also survive her.

Her husband and grandson, Benjamin, predeceased her.

The family thanks the staff in the assisted living units at Holland Home, Raybrook where Marian spent the last 6 years of her life in their loving care. She made many friends there and the staff's attentiveness and kindnesses to Marian and her family will always be remembered.

A memorial celebration of Marian's life will be held at Calvin CRC, 700 Ethel Ave. Grand Rapids, July 6 at 11am followed by a light lunch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvin CRC, Attn: Family Assistance Fund.
