Margaret Alice
Kammert
Apr 20, 1925 — Mar 5, 2024
Margaret Kammert, a beloved woman, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and enduring commitment. She was born on April 20, 1925, in Columbus, Ohio, to Margaret and George Hallacy, the third of seven children.
Margaret's life was a testament to the values of love, resilience, and dedication. On August 28, 1948, she married the love of her life, Eugene Braun Kammert, and together they shared 49 years of marriage until Eugene's passing.
Margaret experienced the heartache of losing her son, Craig Thomas Kammert, and daughter-in-law, Valorie D. Kammert, who preceded her in death. The loss of her siblings, Mary Blanche Bauer, Rita O'Neill Wiseman, Dolores Rose Spangler, George Hallacy, Jr., John C. Hallacy, and Louis Hallacy II, added further sorrow to her journey.
Margaret is survived by her devoted children, Mark D. Kammert, James A. Kammert, Mary Ellen Kammert, and Margo S. (William) Waller. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren, Dr. Kathryn E Kammert DO, James A. Kammert, Jr., Nathan J. Waller, and Nicholas Waller, who will carry on her legacy of strength and love.
A Memorial Mass and celebration of Margaret's life will take place on Friday, May 31, 12:00 Noon, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish (2750 Burton St. SE). Friends and family are invited to join together for visitation at church one hour prior to Mass. Inurnment of ashes will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Margaret Kammert's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her dear husband, son, and loved ones who went before her.
