Obituary

Margaret (Peggy) Gregg, age 100, was called home by her Lord Jesus Christ March 26, 2024. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Rex Gregg, grandson Michael Coveart, and all her eleven siblings. She will be greatly missed by her two daughters Lynn (Pete) Andrews and Bonnie (Tom) Vander Kamp. Peggy had an exceptionally strong bond with her four grandchildren Ryan (Tanya) Andrews, Molly (Norbert) Gonzalez, Matt (Melanie) Andrews, and Maggie (Jarred) Ondarko. They were her pride and joy, and she was their rock. The only babysitter they ever knew was Grandma. She was there for every school event, every sporting event, every graduation, every marriage, and some of the births of her precious great-grandchildren Avery Quinn, Connor, Cory, and Marleigh Gonzalez; Holden and Willa Andrews; and Elizabeth and Emily Andrews. Growing up during the Depression forced her to leave home at the age of fourteen. Her first job was a live-in housekeeper where she developed the gift of caring for others, and she used that gift with her brothers and sisters. She always had a spare room for a homeless sibling. Always a housewife until her girls grew, Peggy and her sister Rosie bought and operated a small grocery store together in the Cutlerville area for a number of years. Even though she was shy, she made friends with everyone she met and was loved by many. She lived a quiet humble life always showing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and gentleness. She may be gone from this earth, but she will be in our hearts forever. We thank God for the blessing of her long life. GiGi, you have earned your wings. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
