Lorraine Slopsema, age 98, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Harmon and her sister Mina Timmer. She is survived by her children Marilyn (Mark) Bareman, Thomas (Linda) Slopsema, and David (Wendy) Slopsema; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Lorraine loved gardening and camping, and after raising her family she enjoyed working as a nutritionist at Mary Free Bed.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, with Rev. James Slopsema officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Edison Christian Health Center and Emmanual Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
