Obituary

Lois Jean (Brown) VanDyke ran crying, dancing and laughing into the arms of Jesus on March 17, 2025. She was born on October 18, 1951 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Wayne E. and Mildred M. (Fryling) Brown. Lois was married to Steve VanDyke until they divorced. They had two children, Megan and Zachary. She worked for over 43 years at Butterworth - Corewell Hospital as a Medical Technician until retiring. She loved her job and the people. She loved people in general and lived the saying, "There are no strangers, only friends I haven't met yet." Lois found some of her greatest joy, contentment and peace when her hands were digging in the soil and her beautiful garden-like yard was proof of her excellence in cultivating beauty. She often remarked that working in dirt was her therapy and that it brought her closer to Jesus. That relationship with her heavenly Father grew stronger and deeper when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. During those very hard and ravaging battles through multiple chemotherapy treatments she drew Jesus closer in and He sustained her until calling her HOME.

Lois was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her beloved children, Megan (Jason) Post and Zachary (Melissa) VanDyke, "The best" grandchildren, Autumn Post, Hunter Post, Jacob VanDyke and Ellie VanDyke. Also her brothers, Don (Linda) Brown and Jim (Kim) Brown.

Lois' wishes to be cremated and interned beside her parents at Pine Hill Cemetery in Kentwood, Michigan have been respected. A celebration of life for family and friends is planned for a later date, details to follow.
