Lois Jean Lindhout, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie (Kooistra) and son-in-law, Patrick Murphy; grandchildren, Daniel and Andria Murphy, PeriAnne and Nate VanBelois; great grandchildren, Mairin and Moira Murphy, Cru VanBelois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Lindhout in 2011. Lois was a woman that accomplished much in her ninety years – an educator, business owner, also serving on multiple committees and boards. She was a lifetime member of Hope Reformed Church and later Fifth Reformed Church. Lois was a graduate of Hope College. What she valued most was her faith, her family, her friends, and education - remaining curious throughout her life. Those who knew her well know she felt closest to God's presence in her garden, where her canvas was the soil and her paints were her plants and flowers. Creating beauty with her artistic eye. Her family will miss her and will continue to carry her close with many cherished memories. Lois was a beloved child of God. Her family celebrated her life with a private family gathering.
