Today we mourn the loss of our dear 93 year old wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Lois Jean Dykstra, who passed away on June 24, 2023. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Dick & Sadie Kooienga. Sisters, Joanne Miedema & Donna Dykstra (Arnold) and her brother Roger Kooienga. Survivors include her loving husband of 70 years, Earl Dykstra. Her children, Ellen (Tom) Wilcox, James (Kamela) Dykstra, Greg(Andrea) Dykstra. Grandchildren; Justin, Ryan, Michael Ogle; Jason, Eric, Chris Dykstra; Claudia, Dylan, Hailey Dykstra, 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her 2 sisters, Judy (Don) Sall, Bette (Tom) Bolt, brother, Don(Mary) Kooienga. Lois had a kind and caring heart, influenced by her faith in Christ. She had a special place in her heart for children in need. Her love, compassion and hospitality extended to family and friends. We appreciate the loving care received from Visiting Angels (Par), Atrio, and Faith Hospice (Jasper), in Mom's last few months of life. We plan to celebrate her life at a memorial service at Shawnee Park CRC on Wednesday, July 26 at 11:00 am.
