Leon Siekman, age 86, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Kathleen; sister and brother-in-law Wilma and Hank Koning; and brother-in-law Dean Van Bruggen.

He is survived by his children Steven (Judy) Siekman and Christopher (Shelly) Siekman; grandchildren Rachel (Mike) McCloskey, Ben (Alli) Siekman, Jonah and Grace Siekman; great grandchildren Connor, Levi and Millie McCloskey, and Dean and Walker Siekman; sister Carol Van Bruggen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leon was a longtime member of Third Reformed Church where he served as both Elder and Deacon and assisted with many maintenance projects and repairs. He was a commercial plumber for many years before starting work at General Motors as a Pipe Fitter. Leon had an incredible sense of humor and was a wonderful example of service and support to his family. He tirelessly and selflessly cared for his wife Kathy as she battled Parkinson's Disease for 35 years. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's school and sporting events. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 4, in the chapel of Raybrook Manor, 2121 Raybrook St. SE. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, from 6 to 8 pm at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, and on Friday, at Raybrook Manor one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in Leon's name may be made to the Third Reformed Church Benevolence Fund.
