Laura W.
Post
Mar 29, 1928 — Aug 9, 2022
On Tuesday, August 9, 2022, Laura W. Post went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Gertrude Weesies, her beloved husband of 64 years, Jay Post, and great-grandchild Ezekiel Scott.
She is survived by children Jo Anne and John Van't Land, Edward and Barbara Post, Cheryl and Jim Scott, Kathryn and Craig Werkema and Amy and Brian Martinie. She is also survived by her sister Eleanor De Boer, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Laura was devoted to her Lord. She used the gifts God gave her as a reliable servant in several volunteer capacities at her church, Second Church of Allendale, and in a myriad of community and Christian school activities. Laura loved the outdoors and as such, enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening and photographing the natural world. She had a lively mind. A life-long reader and thinker, she would carve out time to do crosswords and to read her latest books, newsmagazine, and National Geographic.
Laura was a loving, Christian mother and wife who was dedicated to her family. She was also a faithful friend to many with a heart for those who needed help. True of Laura is Prov. 31:28, "Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her."
The family gives a special thank-you to the nursing staff of Raybrook Manor. They lovingly cared for Laura, and she loved them in return.
