Kevin Roarke Dean, beloved son of Ann and Terrence Dean, brother of Trevor Dean, of Palatine, Illinois, and sister, Emily Dean, of Portland, Oregon, passed away in his sleep, on October 14, 2026. Other bereaved relatives are sister-in-law, and wife of Trevor Dean; Christine Johnroe, and brother-in-law and husband of Emily Dean, Ian McCroy. He was also survived by aunts and uncles, Dr. John and Mary Schiessler, of Comstock Park, Mich., Brian and Connie Dean, of Saugatuck, Mich., and Ted and Diana Marzonie, of Fort Myers, Florida.

Kevin was born on November 9, 1979, in Port Huron, Michigan, and was a lifelong resident of Michigan. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan. He served in the United States Army for four and one-half years. He served as a medic and won several military awards during his tenure in the Army. He was employed by the Veterans' Administration after he was discharged from the Army.

When Kevin was twelve years old, along with his father, Terry, he earned his Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Kevin played soccer and ran Cross Country for Marquette Sr. High School, in Marquette, Michigan, and graduated with honors. He will be greatly missed by his family and relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 22, at 11:00 am at Zaagman Funeral Home, 2800 Burton Street SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan. An hour of visitation will take place prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 am. Private inurnment at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
