Kathleen Joyce Siekman, age 84, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 17, 2024. She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Leon; children Steven (Judy) Siekman and Christopher (Shelly) Siekman; grandchildren Rachel (Mike) McCloskey, Ben (Alli) Siekman, Jonah and Grace Siekman; great-grandchildren Connor, Levi and Millie McCloskey and Dean and Walker Siekman; sisters Ruth Schrier and Coral Justis; sister-in-law Carol Van Bruggen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathy's journey with Parkinson's disease began at the age of 48, a challenge she faced with remarkable resilience for 36 years. Her commitment to her church and community was evident through her long-standing membership and service at Third Reformed Church and her volunteering with the Wedgewood Acres Guild. Kathy expressed her affection and care through the universal language of food, preparing meals that not only nourished but also celebrated the many milestones of her family. Her presence was a constant at the numerous games and events of her children and grandchildren, a testament to her unwavering support and love for her family. Kathy's life, marked by her dedication to faith, family, and community, leaves a legacy of strength and devotion. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Monday, June 24, in the chapel of Raybrook Manor, 2121 Raybrook St. SE. Visitation will be held on Sunday 6 to 8 pm at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, and on Monday at Raybrook Manor one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in Kathy's memory may be made to the Third Reformed Church Benevolent Fund.
