Joyce Lavonne (Ten Hopen) Vander Maas, 91 of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. She was born to Henry and Catherine Ten Hopen in 1931. Joyce was a member of Seymour Christian Reformed Church. Her life revolved around her family, she was loved and cherished by her husband from the moment they met. From the beginning it was a whirlind romance and were soon married with children quickly to follow. Bob and Joyce were blessed with 57 years of marriage at the time Bob passed away. She resided at Raybrook Manor for 17 years. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Cross. She is survived by her children, Dr. Craig Vander Maas and Mark Lodenstein, Janice and Randy Wood, and Kathy and Jon Holwerda; eleven grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew, Alexandra, Kristen, Jordan, Trevor, Anastasia, Jared, Zachary, Karis, Tessa; 13 great-grandchildren, Layla, Elma, David, Gianna, Lilian, Evalyn, Collin, Wyatt, Violet, Azaela, Magnolia, Bennett, Sullivan; her sister-in-law, Mildred Noordyke; along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3:30 pm until 5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Zaagman Memorial Chapel with a Funeral service to immediately follow at 5:00 pm. The family would like to thank the staff of 4th floor nursing at Raybrook Manor and the staff of Faith Hospice for the support and care shown to Joyce and her family.
