Joseph Albert Abid, age 84, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 25, 2022 while surrounded by his loving family at his home in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. Joe was born on July 19, 1938 to his parents, Joseph and Amelia Abid. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brothers and sister-in-law, Nicholas Abid and E. Louis and Louise Abid; brother-in-law, Warren Moulds. Joseph leaves behind and will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Janet Abid; his daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Mark Walchinsky (Alexandria, VA); grandsons, Theodore and Alexander Walchinsky; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Juanita Abid, JoAnn Moulds, Rev. Joseph Amar, Judith and Michael Sabaitis; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Joseph served in the United States Army in the 1960's, and he attained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University and a Master of Management from Aquinas College. A private graveside service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery and a Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
