Jon David Wiersma, 66, of Grand Rapids went to be with his Lord, Friday June 23, 2023. He was born in Zeeland, Michigan to the late Paul and Millie Wiersma. Jon is survived by his children, Matt (Ali) Wiersma, Rebecca Wiersma (Cliff Walker), and Nick (Charity) Wiersma; grandchildren, Theo, Mari, and Will Wiersma, and Brixton Walker; two brothers, Bob (Gloria) Wiersma and Bill (Ruth) Wiersma; nieces, Amber Wiersma, Lindsey Wiersma, Ashley Bus, Pam Wiersma, Erika Wykstra, and Bree Wiersma; nephew, Alex VanderPloeg; along with his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Lori Pierucki. In addition to his parents, Jon was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Earl VanderPloeg. Jon spent his career working in prosthetics and orthotics, but it was his family that was the most important thing to him. He was an avid, diehard golfer, and enjoyed playing games, vacations and road trips. In recent years, he was a member of LaGrave CRC and prior to that he was a longtime member of Shawnee Park CRC. Visitation will be Tuesday June 27, 2023 from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546.
