John G. McKibben,97, passed away November 24, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Eleanor (nee Corkill) and his brother, William. John graduated from Ottawa Hills High School, served two years in the U.S. Army 24th Infantry Division and graduated from Ferris State School of Pharmacy in 1953. He was a pharmacist at White and White Pharmacy for 40 years, retiring in 1989. A life-long Methodist, John was an active member of Burton Heights United Methodist Church and latterly First United Methodist Church in Grand Rapids. He is survived by his cousins, William (Jean) Corkill, Philip (Suzanne) Corkill, and Martha (Philip) Jones. A memorial service will be held on December 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Clark Retirement Chapel at Franklin, 1546 Sherman St., SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506 with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in John's memory are suggested to: Clark Benevolent Fund, 1551 MLK jr. St., SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506. A private burial was held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
