Obituary

Joanne L Roth, born December 2, 1937, to Russell and Roberta Chappell of Clio, Michigan, was called home to Heaven on April 17, 2026, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

On July 11, 1959, she married Ronald R. Roth, and for 66 years they built a life together rooted in faith, friendships and a garden, she lovingly tended, generous enough to share with their beloved friends, treasured family and dear neighbors. Their marriage was a quiet reflection of what love looks like over a lifetime together.

Joanne was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and her faith was the foundation of everything. She and Ron were deeply rooted in their church at St. Timothy Lutheran in Otisville, Michigan. She was very active in groups and with various activities. The friendships she and Ron formed through their church were more like family as they served and were in fellowship with one another. Together they celebrated the joys and sorrows of life with these precious friends. These bonds were the most treasured in her life.

Not only did friendships within her church community bring joy to Joanne, but friendships made on and off the golf course. She loved to play golf as soon as it was warm enough and played on through the fall. When the weather wasn't great for a game, she enjoyed meeting her golf friends for breakfast or lunch. Joanne and Ron were blessed with many friends they connected with through golf and friends of friends through their love of the game.

She was very thankful for the treasured friends of her childhood and youth. As well as the blessing of close family relationships with brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins- celebrating the joys and sorrows of a long life.

Joanne is survived by her beloved husband, Ron, their son Randall (Candace), their daughter Robin Koory (Michael), seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and soon to be a fourth - as well as dear sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins.

Her family and friends find great comfort in the grace, mercy and peace of the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting that Joanne is exactly where she always believed she would be one day. We give thanks to God for a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, Godmother, cousin and friend!

A Memorial Service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 12pm at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Otisville, Michigan.
