Joanne Mae Boer, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. She is survived by Warren J Boer, her husband of 63 years. Her children, Terry Boer and his friend Kim Patton, Greg and Michele Boer, Janella "Missy" and Todd Harkema; grandchildren Bryan and Elizabeth Boer, Sara Boer, Rachel and Cal Thorne, Garrit Harkema, Lucas Boer, Elliana Boer; great-grandchild Henry Boer; in-laws Judy Boer, Randy and Pam Boer; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard D Sr. and Wilma Zondervan; brother Bernard D Jr. and Beverly Zondervan Jensen. Joanne was strong in her faith and commitment to Jesus Christ. She was devoted to many causes, churches, and organizations which she faithfully served often in partnership with her husband. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, and the best cheerleader to her children in all their many endeavors. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at Calvin Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Rebecca Jordan Heys officiating. Friends may meet with the family prior to the service from 9:30 to 11 am at the church. Private graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Family Assistance Fund at Calvin Christian Reformed Church or Holland Home Resident Assistance Fund.
