Jesus Gallarzo-Chaidez, age 88, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, while surrounded by his loving family. Jesus was preceded in death by his son, Jesus; his brother, Lisandro Gallarzo; sister, Martina Herrera; and by his parents, Leandro and Cointa Gallarzo. He leaves behind and will be deeply missed by his wife of 55 years, Maria; his children, Gloria (Beto) Rodriguez, Lupe (Martin) Unzueta, Leandro Gallarzo, Lucy (Gabriel) Alvarez; grandchildren, Josue (Itzel) Unzueta, Noemi (Carlos) Bonilla, Rebecca Rodriguez, Carolina Rodriguez, Braulio Rodriguez, Dezmon J. Gallarzo, Lizett (Ivan) Gallarzo, Breana Gallarzo, Damian Gallarzo, Gabrial Alvarez Jr., and Luzely Alvarez; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mercedes (Manuel) Hernandez, Amada (Magdaleno) Lopez. The family will greet relatives and friends for visitation on Friday, December 15, from 4-8 pm at Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 16, 11:00 am at Holy Name of Jesus Parish (1048 Chicago Dr. SW) with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following the service.
