Jeanette Ann
Diepstra
Oct 25, 1936 — May 5, 2025
Jeanette Ann Diepstra (Vos) was welcomed into the arms of Jesus and reunited with her dear husband Marvin Frank Diepstra on May 5, 2025. Jan was born on October 25, 1936 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Peter and Jennie Vos and lived a remarkable 88 years. Jan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marv, and her oldest and cherished son, Michael. She is survived by her 2 sons, Jon (Jodi) and Jim (Stephene); daughter-in-law Mary; 12 grandchildren, Bridget, Jeremy, Collin, Elsa, Anna, Sophia, Ashley, Mae, Katelynn, Marcus, Lucas, and Jason; and 3 great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Birdie, and Har'money. She will be lovingly remembered for her strong faith and genuine care for others. Jan will also be missed by her surviving sister, Sally (Dale) Huitema and her very special cousins, Frank and Mary Lou Diepstra.
Jan was a devout Christian of considerable strength who raised her three sons while caring for Marv who battled multiple sclerosis. While Alzheimer's eroded many of her memories in the end, she never forgot who her children were, and she was always ready to hear about her grandchildren. She was proud of her husband's service in the Army and the life they began together as newlyweds in Georgia. As a widow, she enjoyed traveling on bus trips with her close friends and spending time with her family. Jan was an avid reader who always had a book on hand. She was a long-standing member of Seymour Christian Reformed Church. As an adoptive parent, Jan thought highly of Bethany Christian Services and the support they provide families.
