The Lord took Jean Ann Buist to His heavenly gates through her faithfulness on Monday, June 27, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Buist; parents, John and Jean Vander Veen; sister-in-law, Faye Vander Veen; and by her niece, Katie Vander Veen. Jean leaves behind and will be missed by her children, Amie and Jonathan Kriewall, Rob Buist, Mike Buist, Beckie Buist; brothers, Dave Vander Veen, Bob Vander Veen; sister-in-law, Bev Vander Veen; nephews and niece, Jeff and Kate Vander Veen (and children); Dustin Bacon (and children).

Jean was a member of Calvary Church and was a school bus driver for Grand Rapids Christian Schools. Over the years, she fostered children through Bethany Christian Services and was considered an "adopted" grandmother to many.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 1, at Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE) with Rev. Josh Warren officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be at Cascade Cemetery.
