Janet Marie Abid, age 84, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, March 6, 2023. Janet was born on August 8, 1938 to her parents, Philip and Elizabeth Amar. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her loving husband of 51 years, Joseph Abid. Janet leaves behind and will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Mark Walchinsky (Alexandria, VA); grandsons, Theodore and Alexander Walchinsky; siblings, JoAnn Moulds, Rev. Joseph Amar, Judith and Michael Sabaitis; and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janet worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company for 21 years. She enjoyed family vacations to Mackinac Island and Disney World, and later found great joy in her boisterous grandsons. She shared her love by keeping pictures of family and loved ones all around the house, by making every holiday special, and by caring deeply for the safety of those around her.

A private graveside service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery and a Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. If one wishes, please consider making a memorial donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
