James Richard Proctor, age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024. Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1948.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Proctor; sister-in-law, Joan Walters; and parents-in-law, Peter and Ruth Bosch. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Virginia Proctor; his sister, MaryBeth (Laurence) McKinley, and their daughter Claire McKinley; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Linda (Jim) Fridsma, Dave Walters, and Nancy (Rev. Steven) Key; as well as many other loving nieces and nephews.

Jim was a loving and supportive husband, and a generous man. He was known for his good sense of humor, and his eclectic taste in books. He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

A memorial service in celebration of Jim's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE, 49546), with visitation one hour prior to the service. Please consider making a memorial donation in Jim's name to Mel Trotter Ministries.
