James Lee Burman, age 70, was called home to his Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 27, at his home, cared for by his family after a brief battle with cancer. His passions were numerous, from film photography to backpacking to TIG welding, model rockets and many more. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Sue Burman; three children, Ellie (Ben) Browneye, Kate Otte and Jef Otte (Tiffany Fizgerald); three grandchildren Avry, Kip and Thora; as well as his siblings, Kathy (Doug) Van Bronkhorst, Ruth (Tom) Friar and Steve (Carol) Burman; siblings-in-law Melanie (Dan) Yff and Gregg (Sarah) Start; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Millie Burman. A visitation will be held at Zaagman Memorial Chapel on Thursday, July 6, from 5 - 8 p.m.; a memorial service takes place at LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church Friday, July 7, beginning with a visitation at 10 a.m. and services at 11.
