Hilda Knol, age 94, has gone to be with her Lord on December 30, 2024. Hillegonda was born in the village of Winsum in the province of Groningen, The Netherlands on October 17, 1930 to Jacob and Anna Antoon. She immigrated to the United States in 1951 where her Dutch name was hard to pronounce so the name Hilda was suggested. Hilda loved people and was ready for fun and the next adventure at any opportunity. Feeding and gathering friends and family together was one of her greatest joys. She entertained beautifully with gracious hospitality. Having experienced many challenges in her lifetime, she met them with determination and a strong, realistic spirit, enabled by God's grace and strength. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Gerald Knol, her son Jack Knol, and her grandson David Knol. Surviving are her children Bernie Knol, Harry & Faye Knol, Rob & Linda Knol; 9 dearly loved grandchildren; and many precious great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Grace Antoon, Thea Vander Molen, Mieke Van Barneveld, Pieta Knol. The family extends deep gratitude to the staff at Holland Home Raybrook 4th floor skilled nursing and to Faith Hospice for their tender, compassionate and loving care. A memorial service will be held at Zaagman Memorial Chapel (2800 Burton St. SE, 49546) on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00AM with visitation 1 hour prior at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, Dégagé Ministries was a place Hilda volunteered at and was close to her heart.
