Herb Herb Hodde Jr., a lifelong resident of Wyoming, Michigan passed away on December 23, 2022. He was 84 years old and currently living in Loveland, Ohio with his daughter and son-in-law.Herb was preceded in death by his parents Adeline and Herb Hodde Sr., sister Marilyn Radke, and brother Larry Hodde. He enjoyed a happy reunion with them in Heaven. His daughter Lesa L. Patow (David) and son Herbert Hodde III (Beth) will be part of this reunion someday when God calls them to be with Him. Herb had 5 grandchildren; Anna (Mark) McFarlane, Clara (Tim) Storm, Lauren (Gage) Copeland, Ben Hodde, Alyssa Hodde and 2 great grandchildren. Herb was a hard worker. Starting at 14 he worked out in the fields for a vegetable farmer. He was a produce manager but took a job at Keeler Brass so he could spend regular hours with his family. Herb was also a Kentwood volunteer firefighter. His passion though was his yard and flowers. Herb was active in his church. He was in the choir, on various committees, and trusted to bring the night deposit bag to the bank. If the church doors were open, he was there with his family. His faith was strong. Herb was always quoting Proverbs 3:56. "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path." In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Keys for Kids or the Mel Trotter Mission. Visitation is at Zaagman's Funeral Chapel 2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids 49546 Tuesday, January 3rd from 6-8 pm. Services will be held on Thursday, January 5th at 11 am at Calvary Baptist Church on 28th Street. www.springgrove.org
