Henry J. Doele, age 87, of Grand Rapids died on Monday, June 5, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Marguerite and Harry Doele. Hank was a longtime teacher at EGR High School. He is survived by his wife Alyce (Proos); his sons Joseph and Peter; grandchildren Margaret and Ted. Also surviving are his sister Mary Lou Dame and his brother Larry and Joyce Doele.

A service celebrating Hank's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, at Fifth Reformed Church, 2012 Griggs St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, with visitation one hour prior to the service from 12 to 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Alyce Proos and Henry Doele Music Scholarship at Hope College, 141 E. 12th St., Holland, MI 49423 or to the Beacon Hill Foundation.
