Helen Brightrall-Keehner, 77, passed away on Friday, March 6th, 2026. Helen was a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids. She worked in Lansing for several years in the State Senate as a speechwriter. Afterwards, she continued to be a keen observer of politics, both local and international. After moving to Manhattan NY, she worked for the investment firm Kidder-Peabody as a specialist in Public Relations. Helen's later years were not easy ones, as she was beset with many health problems. She worked hard to overcome them, but in the end her body failed her spirit's best efforts to continue. Helen was laid to rest Thursday, March 12th, 2026, in Woodlawn Cemetery, Grand Rapids, with a private service attended by her family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
